Because We Were Busy on Thursday

We saw Thor tonight.

It seems odd to describe a comic book movie about a Norse deity as “not epic enough in spots,” but there you go. I liked it quite a bit; I thought it was well-cast and generally well-acted. The threat that Thor needed to save people wasn’t quite threatening enough for me, so I felt like the film didn’t quite earn the redemptive arc it was shooting. It also seems a little like a “filler movie” in the Marvel franchise. Which means I’m very curious to see how The Avengers comes together.
