Roll Call

Yesterday’s post demonstrates there are things that I don’t know. For example: May has thirty one days. I’d clearly intended yesterday’s post for the last day of the month. Imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning and discovered that it wasn’t June 1st.

Today’s post is about another thing I don’t know: Who most of you are. There are a small handful of frequent commenters here, so I mostly know who they are. My experience tells me that there are a lot more lurkers than that. (My logs tell me the same thing.)

So let’s see if we can correct at least part of my ignorance. Who are you? How did you discover this blog? What’s your favorite desert? Answer in the comments below, or you are forever banished from this blog.

I am a game designer and the publisher of Zombie Cafe, I started working in the industry in the early 80's and have a moderate amount of material in Flying Buffalo's Catalyst series (Grimtooth's Traps, Citybook, and maybe a Maps book) among other things.

I've been a photographer for over 30 years and have a nationally-published cover and numerous interiors.

I met you at RinCon in Tucson along with Ryan and the Pulp Gamer crew in 2009 and worked through yours and Ryan's podcast archives, which was quite a bit of listening.

For income, I'm a database administrator and developer, and I'm teaching an HTML class next week. I've been doing computer work for over 25 years. My wife is an astrophysicist and operates a 3.5 meter telescope, which is uber awesome. She also frequently bounces a laser off the moon and plays Scottish Harp, though usually not at the same time.

Favorite dessert would probably be a great tres leches or chocolate mousse.

I'm a biochemistry professor and roleplaying game fan. I jumped onto your blog from real life, where we've gamed and I've seen your improv (that, and your posts on improv have pushed me towards joining an improv troupe after my upcoming move). My favorite dessert is the chocolate bread pudding souffle at The Palace.

Thanks, as always, for posting interesting thoughts!

You know me. I'm Will Hindmarch. I read this to get centered and calmed, because I find you soothing. I found the blog because it has your name on it. The Sahara is my favorite desert, I think.

@Will: but have you been to White Sands in NM? Very purty. If you ever decide to visit it, I can suggest some good Mexican food places in the area.

I'm a software architect from Adelaide Australia. I also make up the numbers at my Friday night game group by that I mean that I rarely if ever win anything. I used to listen to Have Games Will Travel but didn't really start reading the blog till it finished. Favorite dessert? Probably the Panacotta from either Assagio or Eggless Dessert Cafe.

I'm a public servant from Canberra Australia. I follow your blog because I'm still pining for Have Games Will Travel, which I discovered through the Sons of Kryos (I think) - I'm pretty sure I'm playing my third Burning Empires campaign because of your review, back in the day.

I love all desserts, but there's this dark chocolate mousse with a burnt ginger caramel dressing that I've made a couple of times which is hard to go past.

The answers to your questions, in no particular order, are: "The Gobi", "Just another smart-ass fan", and "You haven't exactly tried to keep it a secret, Paul."
