Link Roundup For 19 January 2011

Like a lot of people, I’ve been thinking recently about the “problem” of New Year’s Resolutions.1 Like what other people?

1 Last year I wrote half a blog post on this topic. It was actually more like three posts, but it only counts as half because I never posted it.

2 Which I’ve been using to great effect, but more on that later.

Paul, enough with the footnotes dude, please.

It's like you're a junior software dev who has just read Design Patterns and who suddenly wants to make everything a Singleton. Seriously, does every post need a barrage of footnotes? Yesterday's post was particularly galling. I had to stop reading Rob Donoghue's blog because he went crazy mad drunk with footnotes.

Use sparingly, please. Oh, the content of your blog posts is fine, carry on.

Wow. A thoroughly superficial reason not to read Rob's stuff. And a new one on me.
